Speedwork, buttcamp and a gloriously unholy alliance

I love the holidays, but I am always glad when they are over so I can get back into a routine. You'll also be happy to know, that the running blahs are over and I'm excited about my marathon training beginning in February.

I'm feeling much better today, which means less whining. Last night was 2 miles of speed work, a 1/2 mile cool down followed by upper-body weights and 3 x 20 sets of devil scissor crunches (hard, hard, hard). This morning was cross-training with a killer buttcamp taught by lunge queen Karrie, followed by bosu ball abs. I'm expecting to be delightfully sore by the end of the day. My plan is to get a 5 mile run in tonight if possible.

Jennifer, from Decaf Please, mentioned that it would be great if Nano and Garmin had babies - wow, wouldn't that be the best. That got me and Kate thinking - what if Nano, Garmin and a cell phone had a threesome. Wouldn't that unholy alliance create the most amazing technological creation EVER!

I AM NOT GOING ON THE GARMIN, CELL, NANO VENTURE WITH YOU GUYS. Electronics mating? What will the neocons say? That's just not natural!
I will just stay home and pretend I don't know either of you.

How can anyone not be excited about marathon training? I am not so sure about the technology mating process though. I can't seem to get the visual out of my head.

Threesome..that's dirty. But u know it will happen :)

Right now we have celly that have cameras and can play mp3s. Wouldn't be far before they realize they can add a HRM in the celly as well :)

I want one of those babies too!!

Will you slow down to start from the begining to train for the marathon or how should it be done if you are already running about 25 miles a week??

I need speed work, I'm starting tomorow.

Throw in Tanita into that mix.

Oh no, not that Tanita... she's too emotionally unstable!

Glad you're mentally recovered in time to start training... :)

Oooooo a cell/nano/garmin you can stand on and call Tanita?!? Now I would buy that if just for the pleasure of stomping it when I don't like the results.

Great work outs Susan. I don't like the sound of Karrie's session much. It sounds way too hard for me!

what we need is the garmin/nano/cell phone all rolled into the oakley thump, with the garmin readout projected on the lens of the sunglasses.

So did you have time to work today or what? All that working out coupled with electronic fantasies seems like it would fill up your day....
