Something New

Today I tested out something new. Running during my lunch break. Now that it's not 110 degrees outside it seems like a doable thing. It was kinda fun. I'm going to do it again Thursday. Just did 2.4 miles before I broke out with a pretty bad headache. I guess when you start seeing spots and your head is throbbing, that's a sign to stop. Anyhowww, 23 min 12 sec - about 9:40 min per mile. I think I might do 5 miles on Thursday and take Friday and Saturday off to rest for the half marathon.

i might have to start doing this too. We don't have any facilities here though, so I would have to shut my door the rest of the day to keep my sweaty self out of sight!

I have a shower at work and use it when I cycle in as I don't shower first at home.

I am planning to use the lunch time daylight these next few months as my way trough the winter and will not be showering afterwards.

If I've a meeting...no run. No meeting...then run.

I love running at noon! We have locker rooms/showers at work and I've run almost every day since I started a couple of years ago. I've gotten fast enough that I can fit in 5 miles if I have to. Nice break in the day too. Excellent plan on the resting before the half, I plan to do the same.

I wish I could run during my lunch and not have to worry about sweating... just doesn't happen. I'm like a broken fire hydrant when I run, sweat everywhere, and lots of it.

No showers here either...sucks.

Baby wipes. Now that's an idea. Really, why didn't I think of that? Yeah!

I run occasionally at lunchtime but I do prefer running early in the morning. How's the running going - I read that you didn't have a good 10km recently?

Nice run today. George Sheehan, late running guru, used to never take a shower after running and claimed that sweat induced by running had a sweet smell to it so showering was not necessary. Of course this was in the 70's so I guess our culture has changed a bit since then. Not sure where I am going with this though.

Okay, I only workout for an hour, and I NEVER run. And I REEK when I finish. Baby wipes would not cut it.

I love running at lunch too. I come back completely refreshed and in a better mood than when I left for me run. I also use baby wipes and use baby power as well.

Since you ran and reported no pains I think you'll be fine for the race. Remember though - this would be a taper week so treat like one.

If anyone complains of any odors, tell them it is Tania's fault...she sucks.
